Hello

Lyle was born in a small town in the Midwest to parents who were deeply committed to following Jesus. Church was their life and although the church was filled with loving people and a caring pastor it was also narrow focused and legalistic. He hardly knew there were really Christians in other denominations until he began full time ministry in 1970. After 14 years of ministry in the Midwest, the Williams family packed up and moved to California to begin another chapter in their lives. What an adventure!

 

28 years in California included ministries in Orange County and Santa Barbara. During a 9 ½ year ministry in Long Beach, God began to build a passion in Lyle’s heart for helping and serving other pastors. In 2006 he became the Director of Pastoral Ministries for a large Christian counseling center in Orange County. Lyle held that position for 4 years before moving to middle Tennessee in October of 2010 to be closer to family.

 

A dream of Lyle’s for many years was fulfilled on September 1, 2012 when Lyle and his wife, Linda, started FishBowl Ministries, a 501C3 that offers hope, encouragement and friendship to those in ministry in order that they may finish well. Lyle believes there is no greater calling in life than to help build God’s Kingdom through local church ministry. It is his great pleasure to assist you in any way that he can to fulfill the vision that God has placed in your life. Since FishBowl Ministries is financially supported by faithful donors, Lyle has been able to continue to fulfill his passion of reaching out to those also involved in church ministry.

On April 8, 2020, after bravely battling Parkinson's Disease for 15 years, Linda Williams stepped from this life into the arms of Jesus. Her contribution to Fishbowl Ministries cannot be overstated. You can read more about her on the Ministry Team page.

 

Lyle's family includes 3 adult children, 2 spouses and 7 grandchildren, all residing outside of Nashville, Tennessee.
